Crayon Art

How many of you have seen these great melted crayon arts.  Well it's time for us to give it a try.

Supplies needed:

Canvas

1 box of crayons (depends on the size of your canvas) I recommend using crayola...melts much nicer and more vibrant colors

Blow dryer

Glue Gun

Parchment Paper or you will end up with the same mess I made

We decided to try this outside because it was our first try and not to mention soooo nice out.  The canvases we used were 9 inches by 12 inches. 

It's always best to have everything set up before starting your project.  These are the secrets to a successful project.  I realized we really needed parchment papers instead of paper towels after the crayons melted onto the table lol. 

The colors are your choice as soon as our projects were completed we came up with lots more ideas to try.  I will post those as we get them done.

As you can see by the photo we glued three crayons then a space. It only requires a think line of glue on the back of crayon. After we completed gluing, my daughter Kayleigh decided she wanted a heart for the melting to go around.  She accomplished that with using her hot glue gun.  Our other partner in crime Vanessa did bubbles.  However we learned that you need to leave spaces for the glue to run down, but it still turned out great.

Wait about 10 minutes to ensure your glue is nice and solid.  Then put your blow dryer on low and begin going over all the crayons.  It takes a few minutes for them to begin melting, so don't get impatient.  Once it gets going you decided how fast you want your dryer blowing.  We kept ours on low for quite a bit, but then went higher to move the direction of the melting crayon.  If its too high it makes a splatter, which Kayleigh has informed me she wants to try next because it looks much cooler :).

Hi everyone, well I have the Pinterest fever.  Impossible to go a day without checking out all of the cool things they have on there.  Can you believe that there are so many talented and creative people out there.  I have yet to find something that I'm interested in and not be able to find it on Pinterest. 

The one thing I was getting ticked off at myself was sooo many great ideas I have pinned and not tried.  So here I go.  I will start highlighting my finds and sharing with you the ones that I try and succeed and maybe just maybe sometimes fail at!  I don't take myself too seriously with my crafts, but I love to do them sometimes they work sometimes they don't, however, I have a great time doing it! 

I will have friends that will share with us and give some helpful hints.  I even have a friend who is going to prove anyone can do it.  She has never crafted but is willing to take the challenges.  We will be following her complete transformation from Bling Diva to Crafter :) 

We will be including all different areas of Pinning, even how to be an organized Pinner.  Thrift store shopping for beginners, upcylcling, organization, and emergency planning.  You name it and we will find a pin and try it. 

So I guess you probably figured out that I want to hear from my readers what would you like us to try.  We will attempt it and no matter the results we will share.  We will even be happy to share some videos and photos as we go thru this process with you.
